Earthquake 08-10-2005

The 2005 Kashmir earthquake occurred at 08:50:39 Pakistan Standard Time on 8 October in Pakistani-administered Azad Kashmir. It was centred near the city of Muzaffarabad, and also affected nearby Balakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and some areas of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. It registered a moment magnitude of 7.6 and had a maximum Mercalli intensity of VIII (Severe). The earthquake also affected countries in the surrounding region where tremors were felt in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, India and China's Xinjiang region. The severity of the damage caused by the earthquake is attributed to severe upthrust. Kashmir lies in the area of collision of the Eurasian and Indian tectonic plates. The geological activity born out of this collision, also responsible for the birth of the Himalayan mountain range, is the cause of unstable seismicity in the region. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) measured its magnitude as a minimum of 7.6 on the moment magnitude scale, with its epi...

Animal rights teach us that certain things are wrong as a matter of principle, that there are some things that it is morally wrong to do to animals. Human beings must not do those things, no matter what the cost to humanity of not doing them. ... Accepting the doctrine of animal rights means: No experiments on animals. The ex...

Child Labour

Children work because their survival depends on it, because adults take advantage of their vulnerability, and because national education systems are weak. Child labour is sometimes the result of ingrained customs and traditions. Childhood should be a time to grow, learn, play and flourish in safety. But, an estimated 10 million children around the world don’t have that chance. Instead, they wake up each day trapped in modern slavery. Some have been forced into back-breaking work in mines, brick kilns, sweatshops and private homes. Others are forced into sexual exploitation, begging or selling drugs. And it happens closer than we would like to think– children in the UK are often just as vulnerable to trafficking or exploitation. Starting of Child Labour: The movement to regulate child labour began in   Great Britain   at the close of the 18th century, when the rapid development of large-scale manufacturing made possible the exploitation of young children in mining and ind...

Transgender And Our Society.

When a woman give birth to a child that is not male r female (third gender) they are called transgender or she-males. When we see people of the opposite gender, we immediately start thinking according to our perceptions. After their birth, first of all their parents get scared of community because our community didn't accept them. Human forgets that this too is Allah’s creation. The total population of transgender people in 1998 was 10,418. In 2015, the Health ministry indicated that the number of transgender people in the country is nearly 150,000. Our community accused their family and asked them in menacing tone to toss their child out of their area. Transgender are also different from each other. Many parents hide them from the community and they grew up with their family. By the passing time, the difference among their normal children and transgender would clear. For the family it becomes difficult to keep adult transgender with them. That’s why, Mostly people leave thei...
